I spent some time in the Philippines growing up. I like slightly dangerous outdoor activities. I love musical theater. I ask too many questions; I'm working on it. 

Raising two beautiful kids with my wonderful wife in Colorado. By way of New York, North Carolina, Boston, St. Louis, Maine, Connecticut.

  1. The Clients of UBS Equity Research. Lead Instructor. “Calculating Levelized Cost of Energy”, 2017. A deep dive into calculating the levelized cost of energy for novel storage technologies along with understanding the nuances of tariffs and where new energy technologies can be readily deployed across various market segments.
  2. Duke University. Graduate Level Teaching Assistant. “Energy Systems Modeling”, 2016. An introduction to the use of computer models and the methods of optimization and simulation in energy markets. The class presents applications and case studies that deal with problems of energy systems, their externalities, and the government policies that affect them.

Technical Consulting

  1. NetPower, 2015-2016. Led large-scale techno-economic and system (grid) impact studies. Core NetPower technology is a patented power cycle, combusting natural gas with pure oxygen and utilizing the recirculated CO2 to spin a turboexpander to produce power. A 300MW utility scale project is estimated to be operational in 2026. Estimated to capture ~860,000 tons CO2 per year.
  2. Skyonic (Eaton), 2015. Skyonic set in motion one of the first for-profit carbon mineralization plants in 2014 (Skymine). Lead consultant on a business model that buys wholesale sodium bicarbonate from electric generation sector to package and distribute as a dental aid to the world’s poor.
  3. Ionic Water Technologies, 2020-2021. Worked on granular activated carbon and ion exchange as methods for removal of PFAS in drinking water. Ionic develops water purification and desalination technologies for drinking, agriculture, and industrial use.
